Heather is a highly skilled and accomplished business leader with more than 25 years of diverse corporate and not-for-profit experience.
After graduating from Saint Mary’s University, she obtained her CPA, CA designation with Grant Thornton, and spent over two decades working with two large NS-based public companies.
She has worked in a wide array of diverse roles, including executive-level positions in finance, investor relations, performance management (strategic planning and execution) and corporate communications.
Heather worked with Emera Inc. for 15 years, performing financial roles of increased responsibility in corporate and operations where she honed her skills in financial accounting, reporting, planning and analysis.
She then transitioned to investor relations with High Liner Foods to continue building on her financial expertise and strong communication skills. She performed this role for seven years combined with several others that provided experience in strategic planning and execution, corporate communications and branding, acquisitions and corporate restructuring, debt rating and refinancing activities, and crisis management. She also led the implementation of strategy execution tools across the organization, including the balanced scorecard, strategy map, and objectives and key results (OKRs).
Today, as a strategic business advisor, Heather is able to draw from her breadth of experience and expertise to provide a wide range of services and solutions to help clients address complex business challenges, define and accomplish business goals, and achieve their vision of success.
Heather has been Treasurer with a number of not-for-profits and is currently Treasurer of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Atlantic. Heather is an experienced, well-rounded and versatile business professional who takes pride in providing the best outcome for her clients.
